The Arts Are Back

One of the major avenues besides health & safety that the COVID-19 pandemic affected were large in-person entertainment gatherings, including many arts performances throughout the world. Arts are such an important form of expression that have dated back to the beginning of time. Two arts organizations in Randolph County that have bounced back post-COVID are the Moberly Area Council on the Arts and the 4th Street Theatre.
The 4th Street Theatre is the oldest vaudeville theatre in Mid-Missouri and underwent a 1-million-dollar renovation around 10 years ago.
They are a non-profit, governed by a board of directors. Since that renovation, the theatre has become a destination for arts performances and special events.
Most recently, they have created the 4th Street Players a committee that oversees plays and musicals. Their most recent success story and their largest play to date was A Christmas Story: Play which sold over 500 tickets over a three-day period.
Besides plays they host monthly Classic Movie Nights and other musical guests. If you are looking for a fun group event or a have a group traveling to town?

Moberly Area Council on the Arts has been a staple in Randolph County providing programming for many years. After COVID cancelled their events they bounced back in 2022 with a partnership with the 4th Street Theatre, which includes the ability for members of the Moberly Area Council on the Arts members and MACC students get in free.
Today, they have a full season schedule planned and a great event for the fall of 2023. Click here to view their full season schedule.
